State of Minnesota - Orville L. Freeman State Office Building and MDA/MDH Lab Building
The project consisted of an Office and Laboratory Complex for two state departments including a 324,000 SF, five story office building with raised floors, state-of-the-art security and data/tele-communications systems, sustainable design features including light wells, use of certified materials. This building is connected by a skyway to the 176,500 SF three story laboratory building with state-of-the-art laboratory spaces, training rooms, BSL-3 labs, clean room, humidification and loading dock.
There were more than 20 City, State or consultant entities involved in the project. CPMI was the lead to coordinate all entities. CPMI also confirmed that the State Design criteria and requirements of the lease with the Port Authority were satisfied. The project had a tight time line and was split into four phases to expedite construction. The main construction portion (approximately $99 M) was constructed in 16 months.
We were on-site full time during construction to monitor quality, process pay applications and supplemental agreements, review contractors schedule and progress, and work with both tenants and other state agencies. CPMI developed RFPs for commissioning agent testing consultant, FFE consultants, move manger and other state consultants and vendors. We provide full cost-estimating services.
