Ames Community School District - Middle School/High School

The Ames Middle School project consisted of a new 6th, 7th & 8th grade school totaling 238,000 sf. It features a 1,200 seat auditorium and two new gymnasiums and lockerspaces that are shared with the community. The Ames High School added a new cafeteria and multipurpose facility.   CPMI provided preconstruction services such as estimating/budgeting and plan review. CPMI assisted the Owner in setting up and carrying out a qualifications based selection of a temperature control contractor.

This project to be broken up into approximately twelve phases to allow the school to operate while construction work was performed.  The work was performed in an occupied building where control of dust, noise and access was critical.  Scheduling was critical to the success of a phased project such as this. 80% of the school was remodeled without the loss of any academic program.
