The Grand Opening of the Minnesota State Capitol - the People’s House - was held  August 11th – 13th. Thousands of visitors took part in a 3-day celebration which featured a ribbon cutting event, concerts, kid’s activities, tours of the building, presentations on varied topics and fireworks.

CPMI is proud to be a part of the Restoration of the Minnesota State Capitol. CPMI is the Owner’s Representative on this $310 million renovation and repair initiative. The multi-year project focused on repairing the deteriorating exterior stone, addressing life-safety concerns, replacing outdated mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, and making more space open to the public. The design phase started in 2012 and the construction phase of the restoration project began in summer 2013. The building was opened during much of the construction, but closed in for the final phase in 2015 and reopened for the Legislative Session on January 3, 2017.
